There are many little animals that also appreciate our fresh veggies in the garden. Not all of them human.

To cover your garden bed with netting you need some sort of frame or support.

The pictures below show how to use the recycled poly pipe net supports.

The supports are pre made. They pivot at the middle. You need two for most beds.

See the pictures of Mr G’s 2017 bed as an example.IMG_0748

Find two poly pipes frames. Place bamboo pegs where the legs will sit. Probably one for each corner is best so if you have two frames thats 8 bamboos sticks.

Slide the ends of the pipes over the pegs. push the pipe down over the bamboo until it feels well bedded in. Watch out the pipes can be springy.

For the second frame repeat the process. That means there will be two pegs at the mid-point of each bed.

The Garden Bed below has frames of two different heights. In this case it helps accommodate the stuff in the bed.

Some pipes have kinked in the middle where they are bolted together. It doesn’t really matter. It might even be helpful. The Garden Bed above has kinked pipes.

When you have the frame up simply throw over a piece of netting and get it roughly centred.

Then take each corner of fabric and bring it together in a know under each corner of the bed.

If you are planning to have larger Bamboo Structures like Teepees think about having two; one at either end. Then you can put a pole across the top and support your netting with that “ridge pole’ like in an old fashioned tent.
